FREE beading pattern for Christmas Cascade Earrings

FREE beading pattern: Christmas Cascade Earrings

Here is an earring design to coordinate with the Christmas Cascade Necklace from my last post.  The earrings above were made using metallic gold 11/0 TOHO seed beads and Czech fire-polished dipped decor round crystals (6mm emerald green, and 4mm garnet red).  The blue and silver earrings below were also made with 11/0 TOHO seed beads (silver) and 4mm and 6mm round Czech crystals (blue and light blue). I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

FREE beading pattern for Christmas Cascade Necklace

FREE beading pattern: Cascade Necklace

Enjoy a video tutorial to go with the PDF diagram of this design! This is a new design, beaded up in festive Christmas colors with elements resembling Christmas tree garlands.  In this piece, I used metallic gold (Permafinish) 11/0 TOHO seed beads and Czech fire-polished dipped decor round crystals (6mm emerald green, and 4mm in 3 colors: emerald green, garnet red, and opaque-to-translucent metallic gold).  In the blue and silver piece, I used 4mm Czech round crystals in two colors instead of three (blue and light blue). The diagram illustrates how to make the necklace in 3 rows, including clasp.  This design works best as a short necklace.  I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

Materials

The Christmas colored example is about 15 inches long, which required eighteen 6mm round green crystals, eighteen 4mm green crystals, nineteen 4mm gold crystals, and seventy-six 4mm red crystals. The blue and silver piece is about 16.5 inches long and is made connecting the clasp via jump rings instead of sewing the clasp into a loop. Being slightly longer than the Christmas necklace, the blue and silver piece required more round Czech crystals: twenty 6mm crystals, twenty 4mm blue crystals and 105 4mm light blue crystals. I plan to post another pattern for matching earrings soon.

FREE beading pattern for Pentagon Rivoli Pendant

This is a lovely pendant design, which features a crystal rivoli inside a 5-pointed floral frame.  The pattern requires a 14mm crystal rivoli, 6mm pearls or bicone crystals, Superduo beads, 11/0 seed beads, and jewelry glue for the last step.  I experimented with larger (TOHO) and smaller (Czech) 11/0 seed beads, and both seemed to work equally well.  I included a step at the end to glue the the rivoli back to its beaded cage in the back, because I found that with some of the pieces I made, the rivoli could pop out if you twisted the component hard enough. I used E6000 clear glue for that step (same as pictured in the Materials photo in my DIY Sweater Clip post).  I was able to string the pendant on a chain by inserting a jump ring through the middle of one of the sides of the finished piece.   I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

FREE beading pattern for Sunburst Rivoli Pendant

This is my first experiment with 2-hole triangle beads, as well as my first design using a large (20mm) rivoli.  This pattern only works with 11/0 Miyuki seed beads, and also requires 15/0 seed beads and 4mm crystals.  I strung the pendant on 0.015in beading wire, making two loops  through 6/0 seed beads to create a “bow” shape above the pendant.  To match the strung part of the necklace with the pendant, I used 6mm crystals the same color as the 2-hole triangle beads.  (Although the diagram only includes steps for making the pendant, you can examine the photos to determine stringing pattern for the rest of the necklace).  The pendant can also be hung on a cord, chain, or ribbon instead, if desired.  I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

FREE beading pattern for Alexia Earrings

Here is an earring design to coordinate with the Alexa Bracelet and Alexia Necklace from previous posts.  But instead of arranging the components consecutively in a chain, I arranged them to hang off a beaded chain, overlapping each other, more like leaves off a stem.  This gives them a bit more dangle and movement.  Like the Alexia Bracelet and Necklace, these earrings are light-weight, and the twisted silver-lined bugle beads give it some sparkle and depth of color.  Always use Fireline when working with bugle beads so as not to sever the thread.  In the examples below, I used Dyna-Mite seed beads (from firemountaingems.com), and twisted Czech #3 bugle beads from Hobby Lobby.  One of the photos shows how the pattern can be easily extended to create a longer earring.  I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!
