FREE beading pattern for Lorraine Earrings

This is an earring pattern that coordinates with the Lorraine Necklace design in my last post. Like the necklace, it also requires 11/0 seed beads, 4mm pearls or crystals, 6mm & 8mm pearls (or round beads), and Superduo or twin beads. A 6/0 or 8/0 bead is used at the top to attach the earring to an ear hook or clip with a jump ring. If you choose to use 4mm crystals that are not bicone (i.e. like the black/gold piece below, where the crystals are more oval), a slight adjustment to the pattern is needed. If using oval crystals, then at steps 5 and 6 where you see 2 seed beads in a row, use only one. Below the picture is a list of materials I used in the three pieces shown. New pattern!

This is my latest necklace design, entitled Lorraine Necklace. It requires 11/0 seed beads, 4mm pearls or crystals, 6mm & 8mm pearls (or round beads), and Superduo or twin beads. FREE beading pattern for Honeycomb Net necklace

This is my first design using Honeycomb (2-hole hexagon) beads! The pattern works equally well with Silky (2-hole diamond-shaped beads, shown in the red and black pieces) instead of Honeycomb beads (shown in the green and purple pieces). The pattern employs a simple netting technique with some accents, and requires 6mm 2-hole Honeycomb or Silky beads, 11/0 seed beads (1 – 4 colors), and 4mm round crystals (optional). The red and light gold piece below shows how the design looks when 11/0 seed beads are used in place of the 4mm round crystals around the edge. The purple/silver and green/gold examples use 4 colors of seed beads: one accent color matching the Honeycomb beads, plus 3 different colors, dark-to-light, to create a gradient in the netting. Here is an earring design to coordinate with the Christmas Cascade Necklace from my last post. The earrings above were made using metallic gold 11/0 TOHO seed beads and Czech fire-polished dipped decor round crystals (6mm emerald green, and 4mm garnet red). The blue and silver earrings below were also made with 11/0 TOHO seed beads (silver) and 4mm and 6mm round Czech crystals (blue and light blue). I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

FREE beading pattern: Christmas Cascade Necklace

Enjoy a video tutorial to go with the PDF diagram of this design! This is a new design, beaded up in festive Christmas colors with elements resembling Christmas tree garlands. In this piece, I used metallic gold (Permafinish) 11/0 TOHO seed beads and Czech fire-polished dipped decor round crystals (6mm emerald green, and 4mm in 3 colors: emerald green, garnet red, and opaque-to-translucent metallic gold). In the blue and silver piece, I used 4mm Czech round crystals in two colors instead of three (blue and light blue). The diagram illustrates how to make the necklace in 3 rows, including clasp. This design works best as a short necklace. I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

Materials

The Christmas colored example is about 15 inches long, which required eighteen 6mm round green crystals, eighteen 4mm green crystals, nineteen 4mm gold crystals, and seventy-six 4mm red crystals. The blue and silver piece is about 16.5 inches long and is made connecting the clasp via jump rings instead of sewing the clasp into a loop. Being slightly longer than the Christmas necklace, the blue and silver piece required more round Czech crystals: twenty 6mm crystals, twenty 4mm blue crystals and 105 4mm light blue crystals. I plan to post another pattern for matching earrings soon.
