FREE beading pattern for Regal Earrings

You may have seen similar versions of these earrings on Pinterest, Linda’s Crafty Inspirations Blog (http://craftyinspirationbylinda.blogspot.com/2014/05/playing-with-my-beads_6.html), or even Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2rKYnRVXFw), but I had trouble following the pictures or videos posted to get just the right number and size of seed beads to make the design work.  So I came up with a pattern for this design that seems to work consistently, using 15/0 and 11/0 seed beads, 6mm pearls and bicone crystals, surrounding a 10mm round faceted crystal.  Remember to repeat the steps with 15/0 seed beads on both sides of the earring (front and back) as indicated in the pattern, to ensure the larger beads are stable and secured.  This can work nicely as a pendant as well. Enjoy!

FREE beading pattern for Fringed Bezel necklace

Here is yet another design for an 18x25mm cabochon, which uses a variation of the St. Petersburg chain that both frames the cabochon and continues on to form the necklace strands.  This design has two versions: one with bugles for longer fringe (shown in the green and copper necklace), and one with alternating fringe beads (demonstrated in the blue and gold necklace).  The green version is made using a dark resin opalescent 18x25mm cabochon and resembles a Peacock feather, while the blue and gold version is made using a light resin cabochon and has a more classical look.  Both designs require 11/0 seed beads and either bugle beads or small fringe beads for the chain, and 15/0 and 11/0 seed beads for netting the bezel around the cabochon.

FREE beading pattern for Enchanted Tree Necklace

Why do I call this the Enchanted Tree Necklace?  Because the reflective resin in the cabochon reminds me of tree bark on a trunk, the necklace strands remind me of leaves, and the fringe reminds me of branches — all elements of a tree.  On top of that, the dark color combination is electric, almost other-worldly and enchanting.  (The lighter color combination is softer, less dramatic, and more reminiscent of peach blossoms).  This design is composed of a netted bezel around an 18x25mm resin cabochon, embelleshed with 4mm crystals and coraled fringe, all hanging from a double St. Petersburg strand on either side.  This pattern demonstrates how to stitch and attach the double St. Petersburg strands, and illustrates the coraling technique used to create the branched fringe (including how to stitch it onto the netted bezel).  This is my favorite design yet using resin 18x25mm opalescent cabochons.  Enjoy!

FREE beading pattern for Victorian Netted Bezel on Lacy Chain

I created another design using the stunning 18x25mm resin opalescent multicolored cabochons available at Fire Mountain Gems (http://firemountaingems.com), this time with examples showing what the light resin cabochons look like, as well as the dark.  The cabochon is caged in a netted bezel (similar to my last post), but this time surrounded by 4mm bicone crystals and attached to a lacy V-shaped chain made entirely from seed beads, giving it more Victorian look: regal and classic.  I made two light versions: one with 4mm lavender crystals, silver 15/0 and silver, white, and lavender 11/0 seed beads, and another with 4mm aqua crystals, silver 15/0 and silver, white, and aqua 11/0 seed beads.  (The aqua version has an additional aqua drop crystal at the bottom of the pendant).  The dark version is made with green 4mm crystals, brown 15/0 and brown, green, and gold 11/0 seed beads.

FREE beading pattern for Netted Bezel on Russian Snake chain

Fire Mountain Gems (http://firemountaingems.com) now has resin opalescent multicolored cabochons (light or dark) that are absolutely fabulous.  They are inexpensive, and yet each one is unique and changes colors when viewed from different angles.  (Notice how the cabachon in this necklace is more orange from the front, but green from the side).  I’m loving these cabochons so much, I will likely be posting more patterns for them this month.  This post includes two patterns: one showing how to make a netted bezel for an 18x25mm cabochon, as well as instructions for how to make and attach a “Russian Snake” chain to it.  The center component of this necklace is made from one 18x25mm resin opalescent dark multicolored cabochon caged in a net made of brown 15/0 seed beads, green and bronze 11/0 seed beads, and 4mm satin copper Czech druk beads.  The “Russian Snake” chain is made from the same green and bronze 11/0 seed beads, and 4mm copper beads.
