FREE beading pattern for Sunflower Pendant

FREE beading pattern: Sunflower Pendant

Enjoy a video tutorial to go with the free PDF download for this design! The part I like best about this design is the new technique I use to bezel the rivoli crystal in the center. The bezel part only requires 11/0 TOHO seed beads (no 15/0 seed beads, like in my Georgiana or Evangeline Earrings), and is very easy and quick to make. (One of the photos below shows what the bezel looks like from the back, so you can see how securely it holds the crystal). Also, the bezel does not cover up too much of the rivoli crystal. I like this because it allows the beauty and depth of the crystal to reflect more light from the center. So I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

Materials

For this design you will need a 14mm rivoli crystal, nine 6mm bicone crystals, nine 4mm bicone crystals, nine superduos, and 11/0 TOHO seed beads. You will also need a bail or large jump ring to connect the pendant to a chain or cord.

FREE beading pattern for Trinity Necklace

This design is all about groups of three, which inspired its title.  This pattern requires 6mm and 4mm round beads or pearls, 6mm bicone crystals, and 1 or 2 colors of 11/0 seed beads.  Smaller Czech 11/0 seed beads work just as well as larger TOHO 11/0 seed beads do with this design.  Using the larger seed beads results in slightly larger triangle components.  This difference can be seen in both close-up images, which show the smaller seed bead components above the larger seed bead components for comparison.  I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

FREE beading pattern for Scalloped Lace Necklace

I haven’t created a design that uses only seed beads in a while, so here is a new motif I came up with. You can use one or two colors — either way, the design yields nice results.  This pattern uses netting techniques, but is finished with round elements to create lovely curved scalloped edges.  I used 11/0 Czech seed beads in iris blue and silver for the two-tone example below, and transparent rainbow cream 11/0 Dyna-Mites seed beads (which look light yellow) for the single-color piece.  I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

FREE beading pattern for Celtic Medallion necklace and earrings

This is absolutely one of my favorite patterns, and I’ve made many of these in different colors.  This necklace is ideal for folks who prefer more dainty, less “statement” type necklaces, and the center component works great for matching earrings.  You can even make just the center component as a pendant, and put it on a chain or ribbon.  This was a more difficult pattern to write a diagram for, but hopefully the diagram I came up with is still easy enough to read and follow (although you may need to zoom in for some parts).  This pattern only requires 15/0 and 11/0 seed beads, and 6mm bicone crystals or pearls.  Enjoy!

FREE beading pattern for Basic Spiral Rope

This is probably one of the most versatile patterns, as it makes a rope that is not stiff (like Herringbone or Russian Spiral Ropes are), so it hangs and moves nicely. I like to tie the beaded rope into a Celtic Heart Knot and add a pendant or tassle for a focal point, as shown below. (FusionKnots.com has nice instructions on how to tie a Celtic Heart Knot).  The pattern includes a variation on the spiral rope for using 2 different sized seed beads (demonstrated in the yellow necklace), and also shows how you can form a “V” in a spiral rope to hang a pendant.  The necklace below was made with 11/0 seed beads.  Spiral ropes can be used to make necklaces or bracelets.  Enjoy!
