FREE beading pattern for Shield Maiden Earrings

FREE beading pattern: Shield Maiden Earrings

Enjoy a free video tutorial with the PDF diagram of this design! The title of this design is an homage to one of my favorite book series, Lord of The Rings. One of my favorite characters in Lord of The Rings is Éowyn, niece of King Théoden and shieldmaiden of Rohan. These earrings are quick and easy to make. I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

Materials

These earrings require 11/0 TOHO seed beads, superduos (in two colors, 14 of inner color, and 28 of the outer color), plus two 6/0 or 8/0 seed beads to connect the ear hooks/clips via jump rings. The aqua/white shows a variation in the pattern, requiring 12 top color and 30 bottom color superduos. After trying several color combinations, I think I liked coordinating the inner color and seed beads to be the same color, letting the outer color superduos be the accent.

FREE beading pattern: Superduo Bud Earrings

Enjoy a video tutorial with the free PDF download of this design! These unique earrings are designed to coordinate with the Superduo Buds Necklace from my previous post. The “bud” motif is featured in the center, with a nice kite-shaped frame around it. You can use either TOHO seed beads (like the image above) or Czech seed beads (like the green/copper version below). This design is very simple and quick to make. I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

Materials

These earrings require 11/0 seed beads (TOHO or Czech), superduo beads in 2 colors, and two 6/0 or 8/0 seed beads to connect the ear hooks or clips through jump rings.

FREE beading pattern for Wing Drop Necklace

FREE beading pattern: Wing Drop Necklace
FREE beading pattern: Wing Drop Necklace

Enjoy a video tutorial for this pattern! This is my latest necklace design, utilizing a modified netting technique. This design works with rondelle crystals of different sizes (as indicated in the diagram and video tutorial), but also works using all the same size 6mm crystals (bicone or round). Although I haven’t tried it yet, I imagine the pattern could be modified to use longer drop beads by omitting a few seed beads above each drop bead. I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

Materials

For this design, you will need 11/0 seed beads, three sizes of rondelle crystals (3x4mm, 4x6mm, and 6x8mm), superduos, and two 6/0 or 8/0 seed beads to connect a clasp via jump rings at either end. You can optionally substitute the rondelle crystals for all the same size 6mm crystals, as pictured in the black/blue piece below.

FREE beading pattern: Evangeline Earrings

Enjoy a video tutorial with the printable PDF diagram! This is a variation on my Georgiana Earrings design, which works with any 4mm length crystal (round or bicone). This can easily be turned into a pendant using the custom beaded bail from my last post. I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

Materials

Each earring (or pendant) requires a 14mm rivoli crystal, fourteen 4mm crystals (round or bicone) of the same or complementary color, five superduos, 11/0 TOHO and 15/0 seed beads, as well as one 6/0 or 8/0 seed bead for a jump ring to go through to connect the earhook at the top.

FREE beading pattern for Olivia Bracelet

FREE beading pattern: Olivia Bracelet
FREE beading pattern: Olivia Bracelet

Enjoy a video tutorial to go with the PDF instructions for this design! The original inspiration for this design was some large 1-inch to 1.25-inch flat beads I had on hand (having same front and back), which I thought would make a great center piece for a bracelet. Color combinations are fun to experiment with in this design — you can use all the same color 11/0 seed beads, or pick 3 (one color same as the 15/0, one color matching the superduos, and one accent color), like the pieces shown. I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern and tutorial!

Materials

This pattern requires a large center bead (about 1-inch long and flat), superduos, 15/0 seed beads, 11/0 seed beads (3 colors), and two 6/0 or 8/0 seed beads at either end for jump rings to go through to attach the clasp. (Materials are also listed in the pattern PDF/image itself).
