FREE beading pattern for Floral Butterfly Bracelet

This is a bracelet design to coordinate with the FREE beading pattern for Floral Butterfly Necklace in my last post. It requires the same materials as the necklace: Superduos and 4mm round beads of the same color (to form the mini-butterflies), and 3 colors of 11/0 seed beads: one color for diamonds (or “leaves”), one for the flower petals, and one for the flower center. You also need a clasp and jump rings to connect through the 8/0 seed bead at both ends. This bracelet pattern makes a small bracelet about 7 1/4″ long (including clasp), which can be extended by continuing the pattern to desired length, ending with an 8/0 seed bead for the jump ring to go through. I think this bracelet would also work nicely as a wrap bracelet (doubling or tripling the length).

I used 6lb Fireline for these bracelets, and found that the thread shows a tiny bit, so smoke/dark Fireline (as in the blue/green and olive/rust pieces) looked a little better than the white/crystal Fireline (in the pink/red piece). Clear thread of some kind would also probably be good. I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

FREE Beading Pattern for Rondelle Cross

This pendant pattern requires five 6x8mm rondelle crystals, 11/0 seed beads, and a bail or jump ring. You can use either larger TOHO 11/0 seed beads (like the gold/silver pieces) or smaller Czech 11/0 seed beads (like the black hematite pieces), but there is a slight difference noted in the pattern for each (in blue text, at steps 3 and 5). I used 6 lb Fireline, which seemed to work well to sufficiently “stiffen” the piece at the last step. There is also an “Earring Variation” included in the pattern that instructs how to modify the pattern to make a smaller version of the piece using 5x6mm rondelle crystals instead (still with 11/0 seed beads). An example of the earrings is shown with the light blue piece below. I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

For all pieces, I used faceted rondelle crystals from Michael’s. For the gold and silver pieces, I used Galvanized Permafinish TOHO 11/0 seed beads (aluminum and starlight) from Firemountain Gems. I like using these because they don’t tarnish over time. (A sample of the earring variation is shown in the light blue and silver piece below). For the black pieces, I used smaller Czech 11/0 seed beads.

FREE Beading Pattern for Madelyn Earrings

This is an earring design to coordinate with the Madelyn Necklace in my last post. Each earring requires 11/0 seed beads, 7 Superduos, a 4mm and a 6mm pearl or crystal, and a 6/0 or 8/0 seed bead for the jump ring to go through at the top. Like the necklace, this pattern works equally well with either larger TOHO 11/0 seed beads (like the gold/white/pink piece), or smaller Czech 11/0 seed beads (like the copper or grey/blue pieces). I used 6-lb FireLine as my beading thread, as always. I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

FREE Beading Pattern for Madelyn Necklace

This is my latest design, which requires Superduos, 4mm and 6mm pearls or crystals, and 11/0 seed beads. The pattern diagram shows how the necklace is made in 4 rows, back and forth (the 2nd and 3rd rows being quicker than the first and last). The great thing about this pattern is that it works equally well with either larger TOHO 11/0 seed beads (like the gold/white/pink piece), or smaller Czech 11/0 seed beads (like the grey/blue piece). This pattern produces a curve that works best for shorter necklaces (15 – 20 inches), but probably not much longer than that. What I love best about this design are the lacy curves, which are not always easily achieved with netting techniques. I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern. (I plan to post a pattern for matching earrings in my next post). Have fun experimenting with different colors!

The materials used for the white/pink/gold piece were white Superduos, 4mm and 6mm Light Coral Czech Glass Pearls (from Jill Wiseman Designs), and gold TOHO 11.0 seed beads.

The materials used for the blue/grey piece were crystal blue luster Superduos, 4mm and 6mm bicone AB blue crystals, and black hematite 11/0 Czech seed beads.

FREE beading pattern for Lorraine Necklace

Special Note:

My apologies to those of you on the e-mail list who may have received multiple e-mails of my last post.  There was a server migration in December which caused a glitch in the e-mail mechanism, which I believe has now been fixed.

New pattern!

This is my latest necklace design, entitled Lorraine Necklace.  It requires 11/0 seed beads, 4mm pearls or crystals, 6mm & 8mm pearls (or round beads), and Superduo or twin beads.  If you choose to use 4mm crystals that are not bicone  (i.e. like the black/gold piece below, where the crystals are more oval), a slight adjustment to the pattern is needed.  If using oval crystals, then at steps 16 and 17 where you see 2 seed beads in a row, use only one.  Below the picture is a list of materials I used in the three pieces shown.  I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!
