FREE beading pattern for Sophia Bracelet

FREE beading pattern: Sophia Bracelet

The strand on the necklace of my last post was essentially a modified spiral rope stitch with an extra stabilization row to make it lie flat.  I came up with a variation on the same concept using different size seed beads and a more decorative stabilization row to make a bracelet.  This is my first bracelet pattern, but I like it so much I will probably create a matching necklace for it in my next post.  I particularly enjoyed experimenting with different color combinations in this design.  This is easy and quick to make, and requires only 6/0 TOHO seed beads (in 3 colors) and 11/0 TOHO seed beads (1 color, matching one of the 6/0 colors).  Enjoy!

FREE beading pattern for Tila Net Earrings

This is an easy earring pattern using 5mm tila beads, 11/0 Czech seed beads, and a 4mm crystal, designed to coordinate with the Tila Netting necklace from my last post.  If you recall from my last post, the black AB tila beads used in the black/blue and silver version were only AB on the front (the back was entirely black), so the resulting necklace became reversible.  In order to make the earrings also reversible, I replaced the top 11/0 bead (that the jump ring goes through) with a small lobster claw clasp, to allow me to turn each earring around to show either the blue/black AB side, or the black side, depending on how I wear the necklace.  These earrings  are fairly quick to make.  Enjoy!

FREE beading pattern for necklace Tila Netting

I wanted to create a geometric design using tila beads, and after some trial and error, this is the final result I came up with (which I was very happy with).  Necklaces below were made with smaller Czech 11/0 seed beads. (Larger TOHO or Japanese 11/0 seed beads might work too, but I haven’t tried it yet).  The piece shown below was made with shiny copper 5mm tila beads, 4mm bronze metallic bicones, and iris brown and copper 11/0 seed beads.  When I bought the jet black AB tila’s online, I did not know they were only AB on the front; the back was opaque shiny black with no iridescence.  So the resulting necklace became reversible by accident (i.e. the photos of the black/blue-AB tilas and the black tilas are actually the same necklace).  I plan to include a pattern for matching earrings in my next post.  Enjoy!

FREE beading pattern for Enchanted Tree Necklace

Why do I call this the Enchanted Tree Necklace?  Because the reflective resin in the cabochon reminds me of tree bark on a trunk, the necklace strands remind me of leaves, and the fringe reminds me of branches — all elements of a tree.  On top of that, the dark color combination is electric, almost other-worldly and enchanting.  (The lighter color combination is softer, less dramatic, and more reminiscent of peach blossoms).  This design is composed of a netted bezel around an 18x25mm resin cabochon, embelleshed with 4mm crystals and coraled fringe, all hanging from a double St. Petersburg strand on either side.  This pattern demonstrates how to stitch and attach the double St. Petersburg strands, and illustrates the coraling technique used to create the branched fringe (including how to stitch it onto the netted bezel).  This is my favorite design yet using resin 18x25mm opalescent cabochons.  Enjoy!

FREE beading pattern for Twin Crystal Earrings

This is an easy pattern for earrings that coordinate with the “Twin Rivoli” pattern from my previous post.  Each is made with black and gold-lined 11/0 seed beads, 4mm champagne bicone crystals, black drop bead(s) and a 6/0 gold bead at the top to hold a jump ring.  This is a very easy pattern, ideal for a beginner.
