FREE beading pattern for Scalloped Lace Necklace

I haven’t created a design that uses only seed beads in a while, so here is a new motif I came up with. You can use one or two colors — either way, the design yields nice results.  This pattern uses netting techniques, but is finished with round elements to create lovely curved scalloped edges.  I used 11/0 Czech seed beads in iris blue and silver for the two-tone example below, and transparent rainbow cream 11/0 Dyna-Mites seed beads (which look light yellow) for the single-color piece.  I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

Thank you so much for sharing. Love this. Made it out of size 8 seed beads was not sure what thread you used? So I used what I had was ok but didn’t hold shape as well as I would have liked.

Bonjour, j’aimerais savoir quel logiciel vous utilisez pour faire le dessin de vos schémas. Présentement, j’utilise Excel mais il doit y avoir d’autre logiciel spécialisé en la matière.
    J’attends votre réponse avec impatience.

This is a beautiful pattern. I am making it for my 55 yr old daughter to wear at her graduation in the spring. She will have earned her PhD. The collar is in honor and homage. To Ruth Badger Ginsberg. It will be alabaster white with garnet red accents. I am excited to make it and will send you a picture. Lucy Peppers of Pepper Patch Creations, Bluffton, SC

Whoops, I meant to say do you ever post videos of your necklaces? I’d like to know what size thread and what length of thread you started with it? I am at beading beginner so I wasn’t sure of the placement of color when doing 2 colors. Is the first circle going to turn into the top edge that’s what it looks like? It’s so pretty this would a beautiful Wedding necklace in all pearl color. Thanks so much for sharing!

I post videos (demo and tutorial) for new designs now, but only started doing that this year. I have gone back and done videos of older designs, and will continue to do that, but not sure when I’ll get around to this one. It’s on my list now though! Thanks for the feedback.

I love this necklace design. This was my very first seed beading project and I am absolutely in love with the way it turned out. The pattern was easy to follow and clearly well thought out. I can’t wait to try more of your designs!
