This is probably one of the most versatile patterns, as it makes a rope that is not stiff (like Herringbone or Russian Spiral Ropes are), so it hangs and moves nicely. I like to tie the beaded rope into a Celtic Heart Knot and add a pendant or tassle for a focal point, as shown below. (FusionKnots.com has nice instructions on how to tie a Celtic Heart Knot). The pattern includes a variation on the spiral rope for using 2 different sized seed beads (demonstrated in the yellow necklace), and also shows how you can form a “V” in a spiral rope to hang a pendant. The necklace below was made with 11/0 seed beads. Spiral ropes can be used to make necklaces or bracelets. Enjoy!
