Free beading pattern for Reversible Ophelia Pendant

FREE Beading Pattern: Ophelia Pendant
FREE Beading Pattern: Ophelia Pendant

Enjoy a video tutorial to accompany the free PDF instructions for this design! Using a new way to cage 8x10mm rondelle crystals, I designed this pendant to coordinate with the Ophelia Earrings from my last post. I especially like transparent colors for the rondelle crystals with this design, as light reflecting through them adds depth when it shines through the open areas of each beaded cage. The best part is this pendant is REVERSIBLE. I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

Materials

This pendant requires six 8x10mm rondelle crystals (preferably transparent), 11/0 TOHO round seed beads, and two 6/0 or 8/0 seed beads. A jump ring connects the pendant to a bail to hang it on a chain, cord, or ribbon. In two of the pendants, I made a simple bail out of 2 or 3 larger jump rings. I used a size 10 beading needle, and about 3 meters of 6-lb Fireline to construct the pendant.

The seed beads I used were 11/0 TOHO round PermaFinish opaque galvanized aluminum, and opaque bronze. (These are among my favorite seed beads to use because they don’t tarnish). All of the 8x10mm rondelle crystals came from Michael’s, in their strung rondelle crystal sets (8x10mm being the largest size). The sets are pictured below. I’ve used these in many other designs including Brielle Earrings, Lillian Earrings, Arabella Earrings, Arabella Pendant, Wing Drop Bracelet, Wing Drop Necklace, Wing Drop Earrings, Rondelle Radiance Earrings, Rondelle Radiance Necklace, and Rondelle Radiance Bracelet… There are plenty of projects to use up the rest of the rondelle crystals in the set!

Free beading pattern for Ophelia Earrings

Free Beading Pattern: Ophelia Earrings
Free Beading Pattern: Ophelia Earrings

Enjoy a video tutorial to accompany the free PDF instructions for this design! It’s been a while since my last post, but I think this design is worth the wait. After much trial and error, I invented a new way to cage 8x10mm rondelle crystals, and this became the main inspiration behind this design. I especially like transparent colors for the rondelle crystals with this design, as light reflecting through them adds depth when it shines through the open areas of each beaded cage. I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

Materials

These earrings require six 8x10mm rondelle crystals (preferably transparent), 11/0 TOHO round seed beads, and two 6/0 or 8/0 seed beads to feed the jump rings through to attach the ear hooks or clips. I use a size 10 beading needle, and about 1.5 meters of 6-lb Fireline per earring.

The sets look like this:

Free beading pattern for patriotic Betsy Earrings

Free beading pattern: Betsy Earrings
Free beading pattern: Betsy Earrings

Enjoy a step-by-step video tutorial to accompany the free PDF diagram download for this design! I love this earring design, simple and quick to make. These earrings coordinate with the Betsy Bracelet from my previous post. It has different looks based on color choice: The red, white, and blue gives a patriotic “Captain America” vibe, and floral colors resemble spring flowers. The center component looks more like a star if you use the same (white) color (at steps 1-2 in the diagram), and more like flowers if you use different colors. I loved both color schemes. I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

Materials

Like the Betsy Bracelet, you will need 11/0 TOHO seed beads (2 colors), superduos (2 colors), 4mm round beads (2 colors), plus two 6/0 or 8/0 seed beads to connect the ear hook or clip with jump rings. I used a total of about 1.5 meters (yards) of 6-lb FireLine for both earrings, and a size 10 beading needle.

Free beading pattern for patriotic Betsy Bracelet

FREE beading pattern: Betsy Bracelet
FREE beading pattern: Betsy Bracelet

Enjoy a step-by-step video tutorial to accompany the free PDF diagram download for this design! I love this cuff bracelet design, that can have different looks based on color choice. Use red, white, and blue to get a “Stars and Stripes” look; use floral colors to look like spring flowers. The center components look more like stars if you use the same (white) color (at steps 1, 2, and 8 in the diagram), and more like flowers if you use different colors. I loved both color schemes. The bracelet is made in 5 rows (though the 5th row is optional). I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

Materials

For this bracelet you will need 11/0 TOHO seed beads (2 colors), superduos (2 colors), 4mm round beads (2 colors), plus two 6/0 or 8/0 seed beads at either end to connect the clasp with jump rings. For a 7-inch bracelet (including clasp), you will need to make 8 flower/star components in the first row, requiring eight 4mm beads for the component center, and 62 4mm beads surrounding the components. I used a size 10 beading needle with about 4 meters/yards of 6-lb Fireline. I’m only comfortable working with a maximum of 2 meters/yards of thread at a time, so I used that amount, then connected another segment of Fireline halfway through using a lighter (shown in the video).

Free beading pattern for Bonnie Earrings

FREE beading pattern: Bonnie Earrings
FREE beading pattern: Bonnie Earrings

Enjoy a step-by-step video tutorial to go with the free PDF diagram download for this design! These earrings coordinate with the Bonnie Bracelet in my previous post. The pieces with alternating superduo colors give interest and depth, but the single-color ones have a nice classic clean look – I like both! You can use any 6mm bead or crystal with this pattern, which makes it versatile. I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

Materials

Like the Bonnie Bracelet, you will need 11/0 TOHO and 15/0 seed beads, one or two colors of superduos, and six 6mm beads or crystals. The 6mm beads can be round beads, pearls, round crystals, or bicone crystals. You will also need two 6/0 or 8/0 seed beads to connect the earhook or clip with jump rings.
