FREE beading pattern for Christmas Cascade Necklace

FREE beading pattern: Christmas Cascade Necklace
FREE beading pattern: Cascade Necklace

Enjoy a video tutorial to go with the PDF diagram of this design! This is a new design, beaded up in festive Christmas colors with elements resembling Christmas tree garlands.  In this piece, I used metallic gold (Permafinish) 11/0 TOHO seed beads and Czech fire-polished dipped decor round crystals (6mm emerald green, and 4mm in 3 colors: emerald green, garnet red, and opaque-to-translucent metallic gold).  In the blue and silver piece, I used 4mm Czech round crystals in two colors instead of three (blue and light blue). The diagram illustrates how to make the necklace in 3 rows, including clasp.  This design works best as a short necklace.  I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

Materials

The Christmas colored example is about 15 inches long, which required eighteen 6mm round green crystals, eighteen 4mm green crystals, nineteen 4mm gold crystals, and seventy-six 4mm red crystals. The blue and silver piece is about 16.5 inches long and is made connecting the clasp via jump rings instead of sewing the clasp into a loop. Being slightly longer than the Christmas necklace, the blue and silver piece required more round Czech crystals: twenty 6mm crystals, twenty 4mm blue crystals and 105 4mm light blue crystals. I plan to post another pattern for matching earrings soon.

FREE beading pattern for Superduo Leaf Drops Necklace

This design is made entirely from Superduos and 11/0 seed beads. You can either use two colors to alternate the leaf drops, or a single color — both yield nice results. There is a variation included in the pattern that uses seed beads in place of the horizontal Superduo in each leaf drop (where the leaf drop cinches together). If using two colors, there are two different ways to alternate them, which is also shown in the pattern. The materials and variations I used in these pieces are listed below. I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

FREE beading pattern for Wire Loop Cross

This wire loop cross pendant and necklace is made as a single interconnected piece, and looks fabulous as a short necklace.  It is made using bead stringing wire (0.015in, 0.38mm), crimp beads (6), 11/0 seed beads, 4mm and 6mm round beads, and 4 Superduo beads for the center of the cross.  Instead of transcribing this pattern as a diagram, I decided to create more of a picture tutorial in hopes it would be easier to follow.  This piece can be made fairly quickly, so I was able to make many of them to experiment with different color combinations.  You can use crimping pliers to crimp the beads at steps 7, 8, and 11, but I found just pinching the crimps flat with needle-nose pliers worked just as well, and was easier to do.  I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

FREE beading pattern for Alexia Necklace

This necklace coordinates nicely with the Alexia Bracelet from my last post.  It requires the same beads (11/0 seed beads and Czech #3 bugle beads), but the 11/0 seed beads must be large enough so that their length is the same (or greater than) the width of the bugle bead.  Like the Alexia Bracelet, this necklace is light-weight, and the twisted silver-lined bugle beads give it some sparkle and depth of color.  Always use Fireline when working with bugle beads so as not to sever the thread.  In the examples below, I used Dyna-Mite seed beads (from firemountaingems.com), and twisted Czech #3 bugle beads from Hobby Lobby.  I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

FREE beading pattern for Bugle Deco Necklace

This design is a geometric V-shaped necklace using Czech #3 (6.4mm) bugle beads and 11/0 seed beads.  It is pictured below with the Bugle Deco Earrings pattern from my previous post as the pendant, but really could be used with any pendant.  As always, when working with bugle beads, I recommend using Fireline to keep the sharp edges of the bugle beads from severing the thread.  When making the pendant for this necklace, I substituted the 6/0-8/0 bead at the top with a regular 11/0 seed bead, since no jump ring has to go through it to attach to the necklace.  I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!
