FREE Beading Pattern for Madelyn Necklace

This is my latest design, which requires Superduos, 4mm and 6mm pearls or crystals, and 11/0 seed beads. The pattern diagram shows how the necklace is made in 4 rows, back and forth (the 2nd and 3rd rows being quicker than the first and last). The great thing about this pattern is that it works equally well with either larger TOHO 11/0 seed beads (like the gold/white/pink piece), or smaller Czech 11/0 seed beads (like the grey/blue piece). This pattern produces a curve that works best for shorter necklaces (15 – 20 inches), but probably not much longer than that. What I love best about this design are the lacy curves, which are not always easily achieved with netting techniques. I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern. (I plan to post a pattern for matching earrings in my next post). Have fun experimenting with different colors!

The materials used for the white/pink/gold piece were white Superduos, 4mm and 6mm Light Coral Czech Glass Pearls (from Jill Wiseman Designs), and gold TOHO 11.0 seed beads.

The materials used for the blue/grey piece were crystal blue luster Superduos, 4mm and 6mm bicone AB blue crystals, and black hematite 11/0 Czech seed beads.

FREE beading pattern for Chip Fringe Necklace

This is my latest design: a V-shape necklace featuring beautiful bugle fringes with coraled ends, hanging off a superduo beaded chain.  The use of natural stone drilled chips (or any drilled chips with some color variation) gives an organic feel to this necklace.  It was fun to experiment with different color combinations, and I love how all of them turned out!  The pattern requires twin or superduo beads, 11/0 seed beads (1 or 2 colors), bugle beads (any size), and small to medium drilled chips.  The last photo with the blue lapis chips shows a variation where I added half the fringe (alternating from every other twin bead instead of every twin bead) with 4 – 5 chips in the coral end instead of 2.  I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

FREE beading pattern for Laguna Necklace

This is my latest design, featuring a diamond shaped pendant on an embellished Superduo chain.  The pattern requires 11/0 seed beads, Superduo or twin beads (2.5 x 5mm), 4mm beads, and one 8mm bead or crystal for the center of the pendant.  The pattern can be done using only one color of seed beads (like the dark gold/orange/turquoise piece, or the green/purple/aqua piece), or two colors of seed beads (like the black hematite/light aqua piece, the gold/clear/green piece, or the light blue/lavender/silver piece).  I really enjoyed experimenting with different color combinations in this design, and was especially happy with how well the light-aqua silver-lined seed beads complimented the black hematite Superduos.  I’ve tried black hematite with different colors in the past, but this is by far my favorite compliment to black hematite yet.  I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

FREE beading pattern for Lorraine Necklace

Special Note:

My apologies to those of you on the e-mail list who may have received multiple e-mails of my last post.  There was a server migration in December which caused a glitch in the e-mail mechanism, which I believe has now been fixed.

New pattern!

This is my latest necklace design, entitled Lorraine Necklace.  It requires 11/0 seed beads, 4mm pearls or crystals, 6mm & 8mm pearls (or round beads), and Superduo or twin beads.  If you choose to use 4mm crystals that are not bicone  (i.e. like the black/gold piece below, where the crystals are more oval), a slight adjustment to the pattern is needed.  If using oval crystals, then at steps 16 and 17 where you see 2 seed beads in a row, use only one.  Below the picture is a list of materials I used in the three pieces shown.  I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!

FREE beading pattern for Honeycomb Net necklace

This is my first design using Honeycomb (2-hole hexagon) beads!  The pattern works equally well with Silky (2-hole diamond-shaped beads, shown in the red and black pieces) instead of Honeycomb beads (shown in the green and purple pieces).  The pattern employs a simple netting technique with some accents, and requires 6mm 2-hole Honeycomb or Silky beads, 11/0 seed beads (1 – 4 colors), and 4mm round crystals (optional).  The red and light gold piece below shows how the design looks when 11/0 seed beads are used in place of the 4mm round crystals around the edge.  The purple/silver and green/gold examples use 4 colors of seed beads: one accent color matching the Honeycomb beads, plus 3 different colors, dark-to-light, to create a gradient in the netting.  I hope you enjoy this free beading pattern!
